#18200 Party Invitation

Posted by Pam on 02 May 2015 - 04:06 PM

Hi, Yvonne - having talked to Bob and confirmed our normal house-sitter can come, yes we would like to be there.  We'd be looking to stay overnight, preferably in Kritsa itself.  Do you know if the Argyro rent rooms have availability for that night? If not, we'd probably stay in Agios Nikolaus.  Looking forward to seeing you then.

Hi, Yvonne - good to see you posting again.

We're well into spring here now, though today's been a bit frustrating as we've had a strong southerly wind and couldn't do much in the garden. The winter hasn't been too bad, either - some cold and rainy days, but with good weather in between, much better than last year. We're both well but have acquired yet more cats - kittens were being brought into our garden by the mothers to be looked after and they've now moved in with us. Fortunately we were able to get 2 of the mothers neutered a couple of weeks ago through a local cat charity and all the ones we've taken have now been done so there shouldn't be too many more. There's a third mature female, but she's very shy so we can't pick her up. We were loaned a cat trap and successfully caught 3, but not the one we wanted!

We're hoping to do more trips around the island this year - didn't do any more after our visit to you as a good friend became seriously ill and we didn't want to be too far from here in case his wife needed our help. All we need is an irrigation system put in so we don't have to ask friends to spend an hour watering, but that's in hand.

Hope all's wellwith you and Alan.

Yannis, thanks for the update and I'm so sorry it has been so bad. ^_^ I do hope you nor any of the other members of the forum living or holidaying in Crete have been personally affected with damage to themselves or property.

Looking at the weather forecast it is set to improve, so hopefully the island will have time to start repairing the damage.
