Have just gotten back from spending a week in the Petra. Me and my boyfriend went allocated on arrival and were very very happy with being allocated the Petra. It was clean, the bar staff were friendly and funny, the food was basic but very good (there are plenty of restaurants with a more diverse range of foods in Koutouloufari town) and resonably priced. The pool and sundeck were loverly and relaxing *I didnt want to come home*, the breeze up there makes the heat alot more bearable, just slap alot of cream on.
The apartments themselves were also clean, we had frensh towels frequently and new sheets once a week. There were what looked like new appliances i.e. kettle, toaster and oven, and however a slightly older hob!
I would also reccomend paying the 5euros a day for the air conditioning as it gets very hot in the room without it!
Koutoloufari itself was soo pretty, with lots of shops selling pretty gifts and souvenirs. The resaurants are second to none, me and my partner especially enjoyed 'The Pegasus'...both the food and service was brilliant. I would reccomened thier Greek night on Friday from 8ish rather than the thomson one as we had free entertainment (was lots of fun I must say).
If you like the beaches for relaxing on, enjoying the sun and sea visit Stalis. Its not the closest beach, but was loverly and sandy. Star Beach wasnt really my cup of tea, the constant playing of club music whilst trying to relax wasnt welcome hehe...Lots of others were enjoying though!
If you are half as happy as I was on our holiday then you will love Koutouloufari and the surronding area! Think we are already planning our trip back to the Petra! Hope you find this useful *I had fun just reminissing*. Have a brilliant time Vicky
