In Topic: Cretan Photos For May And June 2009.

Hi to all Crete Lovers,

The photos from our first trip to Crete of 2009 have now all been "processed", and a number of Albums have already been up-loaded onto my own Free to View Web page

A small selection of these will be created at a reduced resolution (smaller file or Jpeg size) and will be loaded onto the Explore Crete Web Page, probably during this next week ( JUNE 15 -20th).

The full set of Albums using higher resolution photos of our trip can also be seen on my Web Page, and these are FREE to view, and the 6 x 4 sized photos are available at cost, plus postage, if you wish for a printed copy of any of the photos.

Please use the link provided on the Explore Crete Web Page, or :- photoboxgallery.com/arisam-photo

Anyone wishing for the photo jpeg, for their own use for prints, and / or to use for commercial reasons, eg Yannis or any other commercial or even private organisation can have these FREE Of CHARGE.

Just drop me an e-mail requesting what is required and I will do my best to get these out to you asap.

A number of pre-visit requests for special photos have already been actioned, and the jpegs are with these people, now.

I trust you all enjoy the photos just as much as we have enjoyed being in Crete, again.

Very nice people, quality food, and that SUN !!, and YES it was raining, AGAIN, when we landed at Manchester, but the grass is always green, what a compensation, I think NOT.

Photos for you all to enjoy, and keep those memories alive for another few months, until we go back again.

Hi to all,

Have just returned from Crete, with loads of great memories, and even more good photos, and YES, I was able to take a few photos of a number of Traditional Cretan Weddings.

Fortunately, where I was staying the weddings came to me !!

There is a truly wonderful setting for weddings in Crete. The church actually being on the side of the our local beach, hence I was able to take a number of photos (as did many other visitors to Crete) at quite a distance from the actual weddings activities.

A selection of photos will appear on my web page for all to see, and luckily include most of what I wished to include on my visit this year.

They will be available on my Web Page, during the course of the next few days.

Hi, and thanks to Julie and John4d.

What you have said is just what I was hoping, and yes, I may now be able to take my wife with me. Although it was not so much the narrow roads that were the problem, as this is to be expected, and the views do make up for it.

However, it was meeting a very big bus, on the way back to the Northern Coast on a very very narrow, and steep part of the road, on a bend to the right, with the bus on the way down and "taking no prisoners" etc etc. That was the real problem !!

Even for myself, having driven some 750,00 miles (ish) in my time on roads on busines, where no matter where you are, roads are much the same where there are mountains.

But, it just so happened that at this spot the sand, dust and shale were much in evidence, and when the car would not move UP, as was the required (and urgently needed) I felt that a side push by the bus, just slightly !! would put me down with the other vehicles that we had passed on the way over.

Anyhow, will try this route this time around.

Additioanlly, I had considered the other suggested route, and had come to the conclusion that using car and ferries, would entail an over night stay, somewhere. TBA, as we have not finally decided, but I would like to give it a whirl anyhow.
