Ah well after they meet me the phrase is usually: hey you look very serious :-)
But that happens normally with girls whose topics are tattoos and piercings lol.

I dunno what greek men say (or italian or spanish for that matter or english or french or swedish), but I guess that if one pays a compliment that's rather universal a feature if one wants to be a bit of a gentleman. Like Sean Connery said in the House Russia, "I'll try to be a slightly slightly passable gentleman".

Actually the matter is as follows: men, regardless of nationality, may have a tendency to pay a compliment, without attaching enormous significance to it; women, regardless of nationality, have a tendency to get compliments attaching an enormous importance to them. Well, this of course speaking by and large.

I strongly recommend the book:
"Excuse me, Miss, Have you seen the Acropolis? - A foreign womans guide to greek gods." by S. Joseph & D. White.
The book is old but still "valid" and very funny. With a glimpse in the eye U get 2 know about differet greek mens behaviour.
My favourite book ever.
