I just returned home from Greece (Crete, Naxos & Athens) yesterday and we are already talking about the next trip. :-)

We had a great time, met some great people (even had supper with "the pope") and ate & drank way too much. :D

i think the forum deserves a full thread regarding your first visit

(i can still see you staggering up the road past the zerfira! :D that man needs another raki!)

We will be in Crete on the 5th July flying from Belfast with Viking airlines. I will be taking plenty of photographs and I will post them on the web with all the information on the Hotel Belvedere hotel as i have found it annoying that there is so little information about this hotel.

Wish everyone has a great holiday that is leaving in the next few days....

The longest day in your life!! :D

Don't forget we would like a full report on your return!
And while you sit on your suitcase to close it.... don't forget that all you'll actually need while in Crete could be stuffed in a handbag.

Dont think my wife would like being stuffed into a handbag :D

This time tommorrow we'll be half way to Crete ......

Got a bad shock today, checked our flight carriers website and discovered they'd charge 45 Euro's if i took my fishing rod :x

But for 20 Euro's i went and bought a telescopic one that goes into suitcase, now lets hope I find some fish to catch :D

We're leaving tomorrow morning to drive 8 hours to NYC and then on for a 10 hour flight to Athens! Will stay with family there until we catch our bearings, jet lag etc, and then on for a 9 hour ferry ride to Crete, finally! Can't wait, also I know Willtam is leaving the 18th, a safe and enjoyable trip to all.

Still 3 months to wait, but also 3 months to look forward to our trip to Crete.
Departing with Transavia from Groningen Airport Eelde (The Netherlands) to Heraklion, where we will pick up a rental car and have 2 very nice weeks on Crete, I hope!

If you do not have two nice weeks in Crete, that is your problem :) ; we have had two nice weeks in Crete for the last 25 years  . Enjoy every minute!!!

I know those weeks will be nice because holidays on Crete are always nice! I'm just superstitious enough to be careful to write that I WILL have a nice time. Once I arranged 3 weeks and it turned out later that I had to rearrange it to two weeks. Things can happen in between.
But... I will enjoy it, very much!

:) We once arranged three weeks and stayed for four years; things can happen in Crete also. Mieke, just go for it. Maybe see you there

That sounds like a very nice change!
I stayed once for almost 4 months. 4 years would be welcome too.
I love Crete!!!
