Maybe our last question before we go !!

June 21st is Summer Solstice, ie the longest daylight day. 3 years ago we celebrated this within the stone circle at Stonehenge Uk. :D

Are the any celebrations in Crete for the Summer Solstice, if so where please :D

There are no celebrations as far as I know. In Greece the difference between winter and summer is not so impressive as in northern Europe.
In the darker days of the winter there is enough light until 5-6 pm, while in the summer it gets dark around 9pm.

Then we will have to have our own celebration with tea next week

Gone and back, we're now gloriously relaxed, happy, pished, burnt, knackered, delighted, sad and need lots of energy to cut the very long grass in garden :?

Hi Chris, glad you enjoyed NY and books arrived safely. I'm going to order those books so that there is no need to keep borrowing yours, but thanks anyway. After last years trip we both feel that Eastern Crete has much to offer us, its certainly a more interesting coastline than the west coast was to us. Our dates are - arrive 31/8 -14 days, and you ?
