Almyrida is a seaside resort extending about 2 kilometres along the coast. The resort itself is quite small and touristy, with many hotels and apartments for rent.

Like neighbouring Kalyves, Almyrida has been very built up in recent years, due to strong Northern European interest in buying land and houses there.

However, it’s an ill wind that blows nobody any good: the wind and waves have made Almyrida a windsurfers’ paradise.

Even if you’re not an expert windsurfer, you can try your luck, as you can rent a board on the beach and there are even windsurfing trainers here – mainly in the high tourist season.

The more daring can try the small single- or two-seater sailing boats for a trip to explore the sea caves along the rocky coast east of Almyrida.
