Whoever comes to Heraklion from the West, meaning from Ammoudara, Agia Pelagia, Fodele, Bali, Rethymnon or Chania can not turn left any more from the highway towards Knossos. They have to go to the right exit, turn left and cross the bridge over the highway and go down to Knossos Avenue.
The problem lies on the small sign that shows the exit from the highway. If someone is not accidentally driving on the right lane, there is no time for him to turn left.
On the contrary, those who come from the east (Gouves, Hersonissos, Stalida, Malia, Agios Nikolaos) do not have any problem finding the right exit. Keep in mind that it’s the second exit past the exit to Heraklion Airport.

Be Careful At The Exit To Knossos From The Highway
