The road is wider; there is a safety barrier between the two opposite traffic directions and new exits to Heraklion and Kokkini Hani.
All these are really great and have seriously helped the drivers, but there are still a few simple things missing, things that now cause problems.
For instance, if you are coming from the East (Heraklion) it is almost impossible to find the exit from the highway to Kokkini Hani, at the yet unfinished junction, because the road sign is too small and placed exactly at the point where you have to turn.
On the highway, though, everyone is travelling with at least 80km/h therefore the driver doesn’t have enough time to see the sign and turn at the right point.
