Hi all, we are Rob & Jo from the UK and looking to buy a traditional cretan house in the south east of Crete for use by ourselves as a holiday home and an escape to at various times of the year and maybe when we retire it will become a winter home or a Permanent home, who knows

We have seen a few that interest us and these do bring with them a question or two (or a lot more!!).

I like the idea of solar panel heated water and cannot for the life of me find any info on the net regarding typical cost for a complete job, supply of panels etc and labour costs, it would only be required to supply enough hot water for a family of 3

also, most of the houses we like, if not all, do not have any means of heating other than open fires or log burners again if anyone has any idea of cost for the total fitting/installing a heating system in say a 4 roomed house of around 70 sq metre in area. Even the typical price for logs or best type of fuel used on the fires as we do enjoy a real fire too and would wish to keep this in place and in use.

We look forward to enjoying the forum and hope that maybe we can have some input one day to help someone too.
