Melting Snow On White Mountains
Posted 15 April 2008 - 05:23 PM
This is good news as it means that summer is on its way and soon the Samaria Gorge will be open. I’m very keen to make the trek and explore the fabulous flora and fauna.
The recent hot weather has also brought with it a trickle of tourists eager to strip off and bathe in the sea.
I was keen to join them too and had a lovely swim in the sea yesterday at Kalyves.
Can you tell I love living here in Crete?
Bye for now.

At least I think these are the White Mountains.
well I was going to show you a picture but I can't use the [IMG] tags to post my picture from photobucket and when I tried to follow Yianni's instructions I was told the file was larger than available space. I'm not about to mess around with my photos to make it fit and I'm reluctant to upload my photo onto this server anyway, so I'm afraid you're out of luck Vlad. You'll have to take my word that there was plenty of snow on the mountains behind Chania a couple of weeks ago.

I've e-mailed my photo to you Wim. If you get a spare minute, maybe you can figure out where I'm going wrong with attaching photos to the forum.

Actually we use the term to refer to your view when you fall over spectacularly and end up eating snow.
I meant I couldn't work out why I couldn't post the pic. ah well, mummy's little helper might sort it.

Beautiful picture M !
I think I know where things go wrong.
Once you uploaded your picture to photobucket you probably made the second choice which is: Direct Link. You only need to click with your left click button.
In your forum mail choose the insert image button. Once you did it comes up with the bar that asks you to insert the url. Now you have to take care. There is yet a http:// prefetched. You must clean this one because the link you copied from photobucket has its own http://. Doubling it results in a wrong url. Now paste your photo bucket picture.
By adding Chania and the Lefka Ori between the brackets (]Chania and the Lefka Ori[/url] you only show the link; Chania and the Lefka Ori. Got it? But than you have to remove the image tags ([img]). Both at the first and at the last position of the photo bucket url. If there are more members interested in how to that one I'll scan a word document with the formulas.
It needs some practice but is very logical.
Here it is: Chania and the Lefka Ori
I can't give you the formula because if I do it comes up with a stupid link. It thinks the text is an url.

I think I must have tried to use the active [img] tags then when this didn't work, maybe I used the same link instead of the url. never mind. It's sorted now.
Thank you Wim, big hugs.

Unfortunately I couldn't attach them as it said the file for each one was too large & I'm not
"techie" enough to be able to make them smaller.
Wim can I send them to you to "deal" with please?

Here are your pictures.
I think Ros it is the Psiloritis we are looking at.
And this is the Psiloritis too as seen from behind Venerato.
I've put the pictures from your house and the village in the Living in Crete topic.
