Hi everyone, not been on here for a long time.. I am going back to Koutouloufari June 10th and I can't wait. This year I am taking my mum with me, as she has never been I cant wait to show her around the place I love to visit. She was in Crete about 14 years ago but we all stayed as a fmaily in Rethymno... I cant wait to see old friends again and make new ones I hope this year. I really want to hire a car myself but not sure I am brave enough having never driven abroad... Is anyone else going to be in crete and nearby in June??? always nice to meet new people, its what it is all about x x

I hired a car Emily and it was fine. The roads are good but road markings are sporadic. Just take your time and get your mom to act as look-out! I found towns were a bit hairy because the Greeks tend to stop at a moment's notice. Just remember to use your hazard lights liberally.

Where are you staying, we go in sept, be brave and hire a car, you soon get the hang of it. We always get a jeep more fun.

Emily do not worry, you will do just fine I am sure.
The roads are ok, just drive carefully, use the horn and go easy, do not mind the cretans, at least not on the roads.

I will try and be brave... ha ha. It's the only way I am going to be able to see more of the island and show my mum around... I am staying at Marni again, its lovely there and made some good friends x

Stayed there in 2000 had great time my daughter was there last year she also enjoyed it and crete in general

It will be my 3rd year at Marni, and 4the in Koutouloufari. 5th in Crete... Love the place!!

We are going back to Koutouloufari in August and we also want to hire a car. We are staying again at Sunrise apartments. I love Koutouloufari it's gorgeous. If you book a car, post back and let me know what company you went with. Hope you have a lovely holiday.
