Just saying hello to you all from Ireland. Especially the wet and windy north west of that country.

I am a candle maker from Sligo and fell in love with Crete in 93 when I arrived on a last minute deal.
I have visited it most years since then and try each year, though I base myself in Galini, to spend a couple of nights someplace I have not stayed in before. This september after viewing it on five occasions from different boats and ferries I finally hope to stay in Loutro for those two nights and and take a hike through the Aradaina Gorge.

I will also be taking in Athens for the first time this year, not Crete I know, but, I am looking forward to it big time.

Though I am only introducing myself now I have got a lot of very helpful information from the Explorecrete site in general and the Forum over the past few months and would like to say thank you to Yannis and all you regular contributors for that.
By registering I hope that I will be able to add at least some little tit bit of info over time.

regards
Bobo

:) Hi Bobo,
Welcome to the forums, you have been to beautiful Crete before i see.
We went last year for our first time and loved it,going back in 3 weeks time, cant wait, staying again in Stalis.
My husband walked the Samaria Gorge and will do it again this year too. There is still so much for us to see and do on Crete. We did the day trip to Santorini a beautiful island too.
You will love Athens we have been 3 times ,i have been to many Greek ilands and just love the Greek people they are so friendly and helpful and would not dream of going anywhere else for te holidays.
Look forward to your input on the forum. (we live in Cork). Take care May. :D
