Hi There

We are thinking about going to the above apartments in August. Can anyone tell me anything about them and about the surrounding area, is it busy or quiet ??? Have been to Hersonissos before but want a relaxing holiday with a wee bit of nightlife !!!!!

Any info would be greatful.

Hi
I got the name wrong - how awful - KOUTOULOUFARI. I have found out lots of info about restaurants and tavernas from this site. The site is now one of my favourites.

We decided to book the Sunrise Apartments and we arrive on the 14th August. I am so looking forward to my holiday now that I know more about the place and the surrounding areas. It sounds wonderful and peaceful just what I am looking for. :D

Hi

I know very little about Koutouloufari Laineymcc but I do know its not far from Gouves where we will be staying. Maybe we could meet up for a drink if can still a couple of old duffers. lol

I think it is a function of the forum board software in that, as you post more and more, your 'rating' gradually creeps up. Yannis is a five star Crete Explorer with 800+ posts. It looks to me, from a quick glance at one or two of our more regular posters that you have a number of stages to go through, all seemingly dependent on the number of postings you make, ( Traveller, Crete Expert) before making it to Crete Explorer - but don't let that put you off.
I can't wait to see what our webmaster becomes next!
Well, at least this reply will take me a step further to changing my four squares to stars!

We have been going to Koutouloufari for 5 years and we love it. We are going again on 5th June and then again in September. It is reasonably quiet however loads of Tavernas and a couple of bars. If you want to be in the middle of the night life get a cab to take you into Hersonisos just down the hill.

You can have the best of both worlds in this exceptionally pretty and very friendly village.

Hope you enjoy

Yvonne

heya !!
the mezes resaurant is excellent - christina and alex run it and the food is superb !! i also really enjoyed rustico and the chinese resaurant is brill and turned out 2 be a welcome change from the usual greek cuisine.

i did go for a night in hersonissos and 2 be honest i didnt particularly enjoy it due to the lack of english people down there. it seemed very dutch orientated but the bars and clubs down there are great aslong as you can handle the dutch charm !! i recommend amnesia, new york and would suggest you finish the night with the matrix .. v.good club !!

if all else fails though malias only a 15euro taxi ride away !!

Hiya Jacqui

Thanks again for your reply. I have heard about the Mezes and will definately try it. I was in Hersonissos a few years ago and it was full of Dutch peeps then so nothing changes. Did you go to the Sunrise barbecue if so was it good entertainment and value ?

Regards Elaine
