Every saturday after 2-3 drinks I have controversy with my friends here, how much cost 100 grams glass of ouzo in one absolutely normal tavern near the beach which you can find in almost every Crete village.
I know the price, because I have visiting Crete almost every year, but these my friends don't believe me.
Please write here what is the price and I will show this topic to them.
Thank you !

To be honest, Ouzo isn't usually my cup of tea, but I seem to remember that I paid all of 1 Euro in Zygos eighteen months ago. Other than buying a few (my mate and I were playing backgammon; didn't fancy more beer, and too early for raki) it is of course not unusual for mine host to offer you one, with the house's compliments.

Henry.

Mmmmmmmmm, seems to be taking a while for dinny to report back on the cost at her local stores, perhaps she has decided to drink it first and is recovering.

Geez, I'll have to start drinking ouzo! Let's make a deal: I'm going to collect a friend of mine in Chania tomorrow, a guest from Denmark, and she will certainly want to visit various places, so I'll have her drink ouzo and let you know the prices from various places around Kriti, OK? The reason why I haven't checked myself is that I actually never drink ouzo - why would I want to do that when we have raki?

Does the price really matter. A cold ouzu with meze is worth whatever it takes.
Try it and enjoy it as well as life it self.
Remember we only live once ( even though it seems I remember things from before when I see them today in Greece. Maybe once upon a time many many years ago I was a......................... in Crete????

Hear, hear Dinny,
It's not a Cretan drink anyway B)

In case you want to know everything about Raki check out this story about the real Cretan drink "Tsikoudia" oka "Raki"

http://www.sfakia-cr...crete/raki.html

In Sfakia is about 4.30 - 5.00 Euro for this bottle.

The OUZO " PLOMARI " is one of the most expensive ouzo in Greece.
You can find bottle of ouzo with 3.00 Euro or with 9.00 Euro.
