Hi
We will be moving to Crete before the end of the year, although we were in Crete for 3 weeks at the beginning of the year we didnot open a bank account.
We found a nice place to buy, anyway our own house in England took longer to sell than expected. So our promises to buy in Crete do not look good to the sellers. So payment is important but we cannot ourselves fund what the sellers are asking for, until we get the cash from the sale from our house.( long story sorry)
Is it possible to pay a bankers draft into a greek bank in person and open a bank account in Crete of course,is this the quickest option.
If we can show the sellers the draft on the day that would convince them.
Many thanks
Minty

Hi Minty,
We opened an account with a Greek bank in London, who advised that we could transfer money to the banks branch in Crete and that we could also use that account untill we were ready to move to Crete. Then the London account would be transfered to the Crete branch.
