I've been all around the island of Crete, I've visited the Eiffel Tower and Saint Peter's Church in Rome, I've pinpointed my own house in my small Italian countryside town (my car was parked in front of it!) and made sure I could also actually see the house where my daughter lives in Copenhagen...
It is so amazing! Should you want to check out your favourite places on earth, the just go: http://earth.google.com/downloads.html

Today I finally had a moment to check out the Google Earth site. I downloaded the program - and there was the whole world in detail on my screen!

No, the basic "Google Earth" is free for everybody to use without registering!
Hi Dinny !
I see , I have it already , but probably I'll buy it but I do not know
if it is better- in resolution- I can see my own place too , but it looks
like it is an old shoot .

Remember to change your resolution in "Control Panel" and "screen" - if you put the highest solution when you're wathing you'll get a perfect picture!
Well , it set to 1024X768 32bit 100Hz -it is an Asus Radeon 9800 XT-
I see two cars in my garden - at least 1 year ago ...........

I've been looking all over Crete (sadly none of it is in really "close up" sharpness yet).
I've looked at Area 51 in Nevada, The Pyramids in Egypt, and a place called Tucston (sp?) in Arizona that's got hundreds and hundreds of planes being dismantled.
Fun for all the family!

Sorry but maybe I am having a "blond moment" but, I have downloaded the google earth and I am having the same problem with the resolution. Do you mean to change the resolution on the control panel in windows or the options on the google earth site.
Soooo excited, , , this is my first post as a member.

ehehheh I like this versione ... "blonde moment"
(Apparently we both had one, since I've just responded to your "ICE post" while I could not figure out what the problem would be)
Anyway, you should change it on the control panel... and unless you want to read "ants" forever, you should change it back when finishing watching Earth Google

Started off a bit cloudy up here this morning, how was the weather in your neck of the woods? Settling in well?
