#5911 Greece is the EuroBasket 2005 Champions!!!

Posted by Anne on 26 September 2005 - 12:26 PM in Explore Crete

Dont forget the Eurovision Song contest as well, Dinny, and a great Olympics.
I love the way the Greeks celebrate these wins, fireworks, bikes and cars driving around with their horns blaring and flags flying out the windows. When Greece won the football last year, we had to leave our car into the garage because the horn had burnt out. The mechanic told us that he had to order over 200 horn motors in the two days after the Euro final.
 :)

#5880 Crete Next year but where

Posted by Anne on 22 September 2005 - 04:11 PM in Explore Crete

Hi There

The beaches in Rethymno are sandy and not good snorkling, but Rethymno sounds about right for your nightlife requirements and choice of hotels. The south of Crete with its good snorkling is not that far from Rethymno (about a 45min drive to Plakias) and there is some excellent snorkling at Damnoni, Ammoudia, Shinaria and at most of the beaches along the south coast. There is also some good beaches in the north for snorkling, Geropotamos river and a small beach just before there which I cant remamber the name of, to the east, and Petris beach and Kalivaki beach in Georgioupolis to the west.

Hope this helps.

Bravo Dinny

Wait until you tell your first joke/funny story in Greek, then you will really feel good. :(

#5793 It could save your life

Hi Harribobs
Sorry if I am wrong but after a very embarrassing incident when I emailed a hoax virus warning to all our offices I have been very careful about giving out these types of warning over message boards. I thought that any info I would see on a police website should be correct.

Thanks for that Dinny and thanks for the answer. I cant wait to get home now and check it out on our computer. I dont have it on the office one, dont think the boss would be too happy if I spent all day on a "world tour".
Started off a bit cloudy up here this morning, how was the weather in your neck of the woods? Settling in well?

#5790 It could save your life

Morning Dinny
I remember reading about it a while back on another forum. It was something to do with mobile phone based viruses. Maybe not a serious enough reason not to have it but certainly one to be aware of. Maybe this link will explain it better.

This is a very good idea but it also has it's problems. If you check out the link below (hope this is allowed Yiannis, but I am only new) and put ice into the search engine and it should be the third or fourth entry on the list.

Hi Dinny
Sorry but maybe I am having a "blond moment" but, I have downloaded the google earth and I am having the same problem with the resolution. Do you mean to change the resolution on the control panel in windows or the options on the google earth site.
Soooo excited, , , this is my first post as a member. :P  :P
