Househunter , I suppose combining holidays in Crete to property research is not bad at all.If you don't succeed in the reasearch part , at least you will have nice memories from the holiday part.
Always look at the bright side of life:)

Laid Back Lil , I believe that your solicitor's answer was correct. Although , in Greece , it is a public notary's job to give you the right answer , Any way , as I told before , I have the same opinion .

Househunter , in my opinion, all the issues that have to do with inheritance , are ruled by the the national law of inheritance of the dead
DaveW, I am 28 years old and the idea of me ever buying property , is nothing more than a chimera

PARTAAAYYYY!!!

What are the inheritance laws in Greece and do these have any bearing on the property market?

Bit of a red herring I'm afraid, but i'm curious about this.

Of course they have Emma. I would like to give you more details , since this is my job actually , but I am afraid it is too complex to understand, since you are not Greek.
Furthermore, it is true that Greeks don't buy property that easily and the reason is that not all Greeks can afford to do so.

#12405 Hello, I Am Fotini

Posted by Fotini on 07 December 2007 - 08:12 PM in Introduce Yourself

My opinion is that Cretan tend to be more traditional in some way than citizens of Thessaloniki . I really enjoyed the preparations before my brother's wedding . That was the first experience I had concerning Cretan tradition . I can still recall many things , one of which was that a big dinner was held at my sister's in law house . All of the visitors who came , brought gifts such as their own lambs whom they had recently slaughtered. I had never seen that thing before in my life. The reason why they did so i beleive was that they want to give as present something of their own .
