Just booked at the weekend for September,this will be our 3rd year to Crete,still so much to see and do on this beautiful island

so excited now we have booked. Intend seeing a lot more of the island this year.

Morning Nick,welcome to the forums,and best luck when you go to Crete to live,we love Crete,been the past two years to Stalis doing the tourist things. My hubby walked the Samaria Gorge the two years and enjoyed it very much,took some lovely photos too. Keep us posted about your move and good luck.

We will be going 8thSept for 2 weeks, myself and the husband, staying at the Lyda Horizon,great views of the bay of Stalis, a 10 minute walk along the beach path into the resort,a nice walk.

Where are you and the family staying?. Its a lovely resort,lots of lovely places to eat,did not have a bad meal. Theres a lovely village up the mountain named Mohos,has Greek nights in the village square,we missed it last year but will def do the Greek night this year. My husband walked the Samaria Gorge and thought it well worth the pains in his legs the next day,he will walk it again this year. We did the day trip to beautiful Santorini,wow what an island,breathtaking views. Have you been to Greece before?. If you want to meet up we can arrange it,its great fun meeting people on holiday from the boards,they do it on the Zante site,we were there 3 times,same hotel each year before going to Crete last year for the first time.

Welcome to the forums,it's nice to know you are from Crete,it is a beautiful island,we went last year for our first visit to Stalis,a lovely resort and we will be going back again this year again too.

We went up to a lovely village Mohos,such nice people and a lovely village square,bought some nice tableware. We stayed at the Lyda Horizon over looking the lovely bay of Stalis.

Welcome again and hints and advice on where to visit would be helpful from you.

Hi, I see you have not had an answer to your questions, being new myself thought i would say hello.

Last year my husband walked the Samaria Gorge and loved it, he will walk again this year too, i will stay by the pool and go shopping . As for getting there etc,im not much help as he went on the trip,being picked up early in the morning. Im sure your car will be safe.

Spinalonga,we will go this year for sure, know people who did this and said we should go too.

Welcome to the forum. Yes Crete is beautiful,we are just back after two lovely weeks in Stalis and had a wonderful holiday. Did a nice tour of the mountain villages and my husband walked the Samaria Gorge again this year as he did last year too, this was only our 2nd visit to Crete and we love it.

Have travelled many Greek islands over the years. Have you visited other islands?.

Welcome to the forums,you have been to beautiful Crete before i see.
We went last year for our first time and loved it,going back in 3 weeks time,cant wait,staying again in Stalis.
My husband walked the Samaria Gorge and will do it again this year too. There is still so much for us to see and do on Crete. We did the day trip to Santorini a beautiful island too.
You will love Athens we have been 3 times ,i have been to many Greek ilands and just love the Greek people they are so friendly and helpful and would not dream of going anywhere else for te holidays.
