From the limited amount I have seen of Cavo Sidero plans and architecture, The Dionysus development is certainly not being used as a template for Cavo Sidero.

I think that the local planning authorities have also learnt a lot from Dionysus, so being that it is not a very delicious natural spot anyway and is fairly hidden away, it is hopefully a lesson learnt at a low cost to the local environment.

Harribobs

Is the development you are talking about called Dionysus?

A square of very dense development (about 200 units say)

About 10km E of Sitia as you turn inland to go over to Paliakastro?

Apparently someone managed to get urbaisation town planning for this decidely non-urban spot!! hence the density

I have heard recently that the project is moving forward.

Includes several villages, golf courses and hotels with around 8000 beds planned, all on Toplou land

Has anybody heard more about new flights to Sitia, particularly from UK?
