I will be in Iraklio Tuesday night and want to take the bus the next day to Chania.

Does anyone know which bus stops in the town of Vryssis rather than on the

"old road?"

According to the KTEL time-table,

one bus leaves at 10:30 and the next leaves at 14:30.

If I am reading the time-table correctly, the 10:30 bus stops not in

Vryssis, but on the "old road."  Is this correct?

Hi, Aurelia - have never needed to use the bus, but we do know there's more buses than you've seen on the KTEL web site as we see them very regularly on the national highway.  I've checked the KTEL web site and if you click on this link, page down to the bottom you'll see the timetable for Heraklion to Chania, which clearly shows which buses stop at Vrysses and which go on the old road.

Hope this helps and also hope to see you while you're in Chania.

Pam,  thanks for this.

If I am reading this  correctly, it is the 10:30 bus that

stops in Vryssis.  Right? I am confused because the 10:30

listing also has two (**) indicating stops on the old road.

Have I been in the sun too long;-)

Heraklion - Bali - Rethymnon - Georgioupolis - Hania Daily 05:30* 06:30* 07:30* 08:30 09:30* 10:30 11:30* 12:00** 12:30* 13:30* 14:30 15:30 16:30* 17:30 18:30* 20:00 21:00 22:30   * = With halt in Vrisses || ** = Old Road, not on Saturday and Sunday

This is the timetable I was looking at and 1 * means halt in Vrisses so the 10.30 bus does not stop there (If that's what you want to do).  Anyway, buses basically leave every hour through the day, but will take longer if the route goes on the old road or stops at Vrysses.  By the way the timetables are not necessarily completely up-to-date and there are roadworks before you get to Rethymnon, which have been causing some delays (though looked fine when we headed out that way today up to Moni Arkadi and the Amari valley).  Hope you have a good trip.

Thanks, Pam.  We were looking at different time-tables.

It is good to know that busses leave so often.
