As I get ready to go to work I thought that I had better take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year and to say 'Thank you' for taking part in an interesting forum.

Thanks to Yannis for all his hard work (again), to the moderators, and to the members for keeping this site a little bit above some others about Crete that seem to disintegrate into personal bickering. It is nice that we appear to accept others opinions even if we disagree with them.

Anyhow off to work I must go.

Have a good New Years Eve, don't party too much..the hangover seems to be lasting longer as I get older..enjoy each day in 2009 and live for it.

Dave
If you look like your passport picture....you probably need the holiday!

Dear Dave and everyone else on ExploreCrete,
Unfortunately, my computer died during Christmas and is still in reanimation. But I have borrowed a laptop so I am able to wish you all a wonderful New Year. Hope to see you soon down here again.

Love and kisses from sunny but ICECOLD Crete! :-)

Happy New Year to one and all!

At last our dream of living in Crete is happening at the end of January - how time flies...

All the best

Happy New Year to you all!!!

Dinny,
I've just been over for 4 days, I returned last night to the UK to minus 3 degrees celcius!!! Crete was relatively warm compared to that. Back over on the 17th January for 2 weeks, I'll call you & pop down to see you.

Ros.

Happy New Year to all and may it bring you everything you wish for.

I second Dave's thanks to the members who keep this forum civilised and entertaining.

Dinny, hope your computer comes back to life soon so you can get on with your work in the New Year. I've just checked the weather in Crete and 10 degrees seems positively balmy compared to what we've got!

Lynn, hope your move goes well and it's everything you're expecting.

We hope to see all our friends in Crete again next year - haven't sorted out any flights yet, but need to start making plans. However, next year could be a time of change for us - my job will disappear at the end of March in yet another round of cost-cutting initiatives and I'm disinclined to take another permanent post at my stage of life. I'm hoping for a pay-off to retire early and then fingers crossed that the economic climate is better so we can sell the house and realise our plans to move to Crete.

Love and kisses to all

Pam & Bob

Happy New Year, everyone! I have not participated as much as others in this fine forum,
but I thank you all for being so welcoming. I hope I can make some meaningful contributions
through my book reviews and my on-going research. I thank you all for the helpful information
and for the wonderful portraits of Crete painted by participants of this forum and by Yannis.

Peace and love to all.

Aurelia

I have not been able to spend much time on the forum lately for a whole hosts of reasons but I did not want to miss the chance to wish everyone a very Happy New Year.

As the fizz pops at midnight my wish will be to spend some quality time in Crete again in 2009 and meet up with "virtual friends" both on line and on the isalnd. B)

Very best wishes from Yvonne & Alan

And a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to you all, where ever you may be, from a rather chilly Devon. (Best get this in now before I hit the raki!)

And a big bang from The Hague too.
