Insuring Against Airline Failure

According to a UK money advice and tips website, some insurance against this may now be available. Google Money Saving Expert to find the site. And do check whether your proposed flight would be covered. I have not gone into the fine print but it does appear they may differentiate between scheduled flights and charters

If you pay by credit card and the value is over £100, you can claim the money back from the card company.
If you pay by debit card you are unable to reclaim any money.
This may only apply to the UK.

I know this is always possible if you don't use the restricted non-refundable tickets a lot of airlines sell.
