Hello

Can anyone tell me if there is a company in either Crete or main land Greece that specialises in Hunting and Fishing equipment?
If so can you tell me the name and where they're situated?

Fishing and hunting are popular sports in Crete, so you will find plenty of shops in the bigger towns. In Heraklion there is a shop with hunting equipment in the centre of the city. Ask for Meintani, the central crossroad of Heraklion and you will find it easily. Another shop I know is on 62 Martiron road opposite to Opel cars. I am sure there are more but I don't remember where.
As for fishing equipment, go to the Venetian harbour in Heraklion and walk from Koules to the west. There are a couple of shops on the first vertical road. Another one is close to the Bus terminal by the port.
I do not mention the shops' names here, because advertising of businesses is not allowed according to the Forum Rules.

Why do you want to go hunting? Can't see the attraction in it myself. Wildlife should be preserved not shot.

I remember talking to an elderly gent once who was obviously a man of the country. He talked about weather forecasting, using the clouds, wind, sun to predict the weather. We were quite in awe of him.

He then stated thet he enjoyed shooting birds. Our opinion of this man soon changed, until he brought out a small album of photographs of birds.

He did indeed shoot them, but with a camera!.
If you look like your passport picture....you probably need the holiday!

Just to clear up a few points with the green party, Im looking for a chain of outdoors retailers, shooting and fishing type shops, with the intention of selling to them not roaming around Crete shooting.
Although from my many visits to the island it seems the more endangered species is the poor road sign, judging by the number of large holes in them.

I think via signus metalicus is a legitimate target in the west where it is not a native species!
