16th July 2005

Yesterday was the last day at work. Lot of emotions, lots of gifts and flowers, a bit of envy but not too much. My boss made a small speach in which he concluded that I'm the kind of person that just go and do what others dream about for a lifetime... Actually, he's right. Whenever I want to change my life, I just go and do so, whatever the costs.

So today is the first day of the rest of my life, I've gotta make the best of it! Soon I'll be finished packing and will head towards Crete to stay there. I hope that all the patience I have learned while living in Italy will have made me fit to affront the daily life in Crete where most things happen "avrio" :)

I'm sure that I'll love every minute!

I'm already enjoying every moment - even though I'm not even in Crete yet! But the preparations are almost as good as being there!

It will be another 1,5 months till I go, since the house I've found is ready for me only from September - and I'm glad I still have this time, since I haven't really had much time to practise with "Greek in Three Months", I'm actually still with the first tape! But it's a good sign that I'm starting to DREAM greek words, isn't it? Lately I seem to spend the nights passing the days of the week, the months, and the seasons over and over again in my sleep! Soon I'll be able to be a Calendar Girl! :) :D :D (OK, OK, a Calendar Grandma!)

Harribobs, since when did you swithch from raki to coffee?

How exciting. I was actually thinking while in Matala about your move there, and how nice of a lifestyle you will have when you arrive. It was a great laid back town, but with a young feel. Have fun living with your daughter and granddaughter in paradise! Good luck with the move, and remember that no matter how trying or stressful it might be, it will be well worth it come October!
