#8874 Kalives - Zourpas Appartments

Posted by mythos on 17 September 2006 - 06:20 PM in Explore Crete

The present owners are Michelle and Michaelis, as Mary so rightly posted the taverna was taken over 1 1/2 years ago.

The waiters now are Dousan (Mornings) and Christos and Paniotis (evenings)

The menu`s have been retained plus additions by the chef Anna.

Tonight for me will be..Fried courgette balls, Pork with celery, washed down with a half kilo of white wine.
Then the Raki and grapes.

Sorry Dave W, only doing this to make you feel bad. B) :D :D :D

Mary, the Mistrali is still there but next to Medusa is "Ill Forno," mostly Piza`s but they have a great Creten Evening on Sunday with dancers and music.

Must agree with Dave W about the Medusa on the beach front at Kalives. The food is to die for, home cooked, never frozen, fresh ingredients all the time. Trouble is it gets busy so best to reserve a table in good time.

PS. I have no connection with the Medusa, don`t own it, run it or have any affiliations with it.

Its just my local Taverna, and its open Fri thru Sunday in the winter. B) :D :D :D

#8851 Nude Beaches near Paleochora

Assim....I think you have a problem!!!!!

1, wearing the wrong type of "Swimming Costume" whats that, whats wrong with a pair of swimming trunks????

2. Just lie in the sun and let its rays dry off the "Costume"

3. Who needs a towel?

4. Rather let the salt disintergrate the leather seats in my car than be naked on the beach.

Maybe I am just a prude but better to see things personal in private, not for public display.

Anybody else agree with my sentiments???

:o Apart from an all over tan.... B) can someone explain the advantages of "Nude sunbathing"

Is it a sexual thing or just the chance to be totally free with oneself and not give a monkey`s about other peoples feelings???? B) :)

#8820 Suggestions About Health Insurance?

Posted by mythos on 14 September 2006 - 06:10 PM in Explore Crete

All I can say is I am glad that my dear departed wife had insurance.

A bill of over €6000.00 is not welcome at any time, especially in times of grief. B) :) :o

#8807 Urgent Help Needed...hospital In Heraklion

Posted by mythos on 13 September 2006 - 07:34 PM in Explore Crete

When my, now departed, wife was admitted to Iraklion Hospital I managed to secure a room within 2 mins walking distance of the hospital.

It is on the campus of the hospital, you need to ask the administration officer for accomodation at the hospital.

The cost was negligable, maybe €15 per night, but there was always contact via the night porter to the hospital nurses.

Hope this helps in some way.

Well got that reply wrong,(Sent it as a complaint) :D :D

Just glad there are people here who love this island as much as I do, maybe not to keep as it has been for so many years but just accept that times have to change, worldwide, but please do not destroy the traditions of Crete.

After all we love to watch the Greek dancers, their flair, their love of life, the passion they have for their country, even if we are only here for two weeks as tourists.

We take all this back to our own countries, with fond memories and the love of a country that will never die.

Live here in Crete, for the past 5 years, and only now have I found a decent Forum.

Ok, various other sites for the un-educated and those who love to diss Crete (Even if they live elsewhere)

Shall try to negotiate the various area of this site, and in time maybe I shall post some questions and also answer some posts.

Hot this year isn`t it? :D :D :) :D
